Design Overview

FuturesChain is a blockchain bringing together EVM support, cross-chain transaction, and off-chain oracles.

FuturesChain

Futures Foundation has been working on the upcoming FuturesChain testnet and mainnet beta, the FuturesChain SDK based EVM compatible chain, since early 2022.

FuturesChain is an EVM compatible chain forked from Cronos Chain. It aims to combine EVM support, cross-chain transaction and off-chain oracles in order to better integrate the permissionless blockchain world and the real-world. FuturesChain does so by providing developers with the ability to rapidly port apps from Ethereum and EVM-compatible chains, with the access to the existing user base of the FuturesCash ecosystem and support from Futures Foundation.

FuturesChain on Ethermint

FuturesChain is powered by Ethermint, which allows rapid porting of apps & smart contracts from Ethereum and EVM-compatible chains. FuturesChain base settlement currency will be FCC, the native token of the Futures Chain. The Inter Blockchain Communications (IBC) protocol enables interoperability and bridging to and from the FuturesChain, a decentralised, open-source, energy efficient public chain providing developers performant on-chain data processing at extremely low fees. It also supports interoperabiliity with other IBC-enabled chains (e.g., Cosmos Hub).

FuturesChain Ecosystem Onboarding

Since FuturesChain is being bootstrapped, we have been testing FuturesChain technologies with a selected batch of startups and web3 projects, such as Rekall NFT marketplace, to rigorously test and validate core components of FuturesChain.

FuturesChain support and funding are not yet ready for the larger web3 develper community, but working hard to get ready for that.

Key FuturesChain Features

  1. EVM Compatible - Ethereum developers are used to smart contract capabilities as Ethermint can support any smart contracts, DAOs or Dapps deployed on Ethereum.

  2. Scalable - Tendermint can process way more transactions per minute than the EVM, making it faster, cheaper and greener to execute smart contracts.

  3. Interoperable - IBC is a protocol that allows blockchains to talk to each other; interoperate and transfer value, interchange assets and services, and connect without running into the scaling issues inherent in some of the largest blockchains today.

  4. Performant Data Oracle - Off-Chain Data Oracle is the new wiz kid in town of Web3. We’re super excited to keep iterating this design pattern, so that developers can combine on-chian and off-chain processing to build new exciting DApps and businesses around them, such as sports betting.

  5. Easy deployment - Users can follow the deployment instruction to quickly and easily deploy FuturesChain network for their own using purposes.

  6. FuturesCash ecosystem - 500k users + ecosystem

  7. FuturesChain community Support - futureschain.org community support - contribution to open-source projects, security reviews and earn bug-bounties by reviewing and reporting issues and bugs found while developing on FuturesChain.
